Wage and hour litigation has been on the rise for years resulting in millions of dollars in penalties and settlements for companies. The Department of Labor (DOL) has hired hundreds of new employees to pursue government investigations and the surge in litigation (most of which is class/collective actions) has not shown any sign of slowing down.
