Program: Domestic Violence: Workplace Impacts
- Signs of an Employee experiencing domestic violence
- Prevalence of DV in the US workplace
- Safety Planning at the workplace
- Sample DV Policies
Many HR professionals do not have an awareness of the signs of domestic violence in the workplace or what to do when it is recognized to ensure safety for the individual and for the safety of the workplace. The attendees will be able to use all of the knowledge gained in this presentation not only in their work life but quite possibly in their personal life as well. They will understand the prevalence in the workplace of DV and the essential part of safety planning when coming and going from work and safety in the workplace itself.
Presenter: Julia Gaughan, HOPEworks Family Support Specialist, Willow Domestic Violence Center
Julia Gaughan is the HOPEworks Family Support Specialist for the Willow and joined the team last December. She graduated from KU with a BA in American Studies and later with a JD. Julia is a longtime Lawrence resident along with her husband Mike and their son. She loves being able to share with the community about the Willow's services and the educating the community about healthy relationships and domestic violence impacts in a number of contexts. When she isn't at work or watching her son play soccer, her head is probably in a book.
We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday, June 13th at 11:30 a.m. at Maceli’s!
