Workers Compensation 101

Ryan Boswell of the Kansas Department of Labor will speak on Workers Compensation in Kansas.  He will cover the definition of Workers Compensation, a brief history and the three methods of coverage.  He will discuss what an Injury is under the law as well as what to do before and after an incident occurs. Disability and survivor benefits will also be covered.

Jayhawk book club will meet quarterly this season at Fields & Ivory Brewery, 706 E 23rd St. Grab the book and get started reading. "You must unlearn what you have learned." You don't have to read the book to join the discussion. All are welcome to this social event. 

Jayhawk SHRM Chapter Program – State of Work in Kansas

Angela White and Nathan Kessler with the Kansas Department of Labor will give an overview of the current state of work in Kansas and resources to stay informed. Mr. Kessler will discuss Unemployment in Kansas and how it compares with Douglas County. The discussion will also include an analysis of Women in the Workforce in Kansas.
